collective haul//beauty.

(From Left) .laura mercier radiance primer. YSL le teint touche eclat foundation in B60. sample of lancome's hypnose star mascara in noir midnight. mac outrageously fun lipstick. mac flight of fancy lipglass. mac eternal sun pro longwear blush. mac whole lotta love pro longwear blush. sephora cream lip stain in 01.

. Laura Mercier Radiance Primer - A la the Sephora sales associate who sold me on this, this product turns any foundation into liquid gold. It's perfect for my normal to dry skin - hydrating, but not to hydrating. I was previously using Nars's face primer, and it was way too drying. This is a nice change, and works swimmingly with my YSL le teing touche eclat foundation.

.YSL Le Teint Touche Eclat Foundation - I have used Nars Sheer Glow for the past two years, and loved it. The first bottle, i alternated with other foundations I had on hand, and was therefore impressed with the longevity of it. However, the next one, which i didn't alternate with anything (obviously!) didn't last me as long, and was therefore a justifiable reason for me to try a new and of course, more expensive foundation. However, I must say, after sampling many many foundations that just didn't sit right - literally-with my skin, YSL's touche eclat goes on incredibly similar to Nars's sheer glow - if not better...ahem.., and really warms up the skin tone. It would be an amazing summer foundation.

.MAC Outrageously Fun - This formula is a creamsheen formula, a favorite of mine as my lips are rather dry. My main reason for buying this was its insane similarity to "Legend", a special edition Louise Gray lipstick currently available at TopShop. I just couldn't justify the price ($18) for a TopShop lipstick - yay me!. I wasn't really a fan of the formula either. I've heard nothing but amazing things about TopShop cosmetics, but my sister and close friend helped me to realize that this was a no go. I digress, noting the colour, formula, the fact that it was a limited edition at MAC, and of course the fact that I was alone at the counter made it a done deal.  It's a gorgeous blue-toned barbie pink that suits my NC 42 skin tone.

.MAC Flight of Fancy Lip Glass - They always get me with the "limited edition"....seriously. But my other reason for buying this vampy purple was to match the similarly vampy lipsticks I've been into this fall. I've been really digging the mat statement cranberry/burgundy/almost black lip this fall, but thought the lip glass would be appropriate for when I wanted to take more of a glossy approach.

.MAC Eternal Sun & Whole Lotta Love Pro Longwear Blushes - Eternal Sun is a terracotta bronze, while Whole Lotta Love is a hot Coral-y Pink. Both can be worn quite naturally - Whole Lotta Love can definitely be worn as more of a statement blush, while Eternal Sun can most definitely double as a bronzer on lighter skin tones. These were definitely impulse buys...every couple of months, i go through "I NEED NEW BLUSH" phase...it just happened. It's over. I'm ok. Next.

Sephora Cream Lip Stain - Telling you about this makes me a little sad, because I also had Dark Berry in 07, and i cannot for the life of me find it anywhere. It' a beautiful dark berry/plum - perfect for fall. Anywho, keep your fingers crossed for me; you can find it here -->link. This is the best lip stain I've come across so far; it's saturated, but not too thick and incredibly pigmented. It is a little on the dry side, but I attribute that to the texture of my lips, and nothing that a little bit of lip balm applied on top cannot fix - I don't usually notice until the end of the day, because it lasts that long! Love it.

Alright loves, that is the end of my haul. I pray that their won't be one for a while - there is money to be saved!
Talk soon!

collective haul//clothing.

. scarlet red talula babaton blazer. wilfred knit sweater. cabernet talula babaton cropped cohen dress pants.

So...first and foremost, I am very aware of the - lets call it- rather crappy quality of this photo, mostly due to the fact that i thought my duvet to be a creative background for my new purchases. Wrong. I promise more clarity to your eyes for next time. Ok, disclaimer out of the way.

.Throughout my short many years as a clothing hoarder, i have accumulated many a blazer; however, i assure you, that this is the perfect one. It is fitted enough to take into the corporate environment, but long enough to pass for a boyfriend style blazer paired with your choice of jeans or everyday trousers. I love it so much, I just purchased it in black as well - i mean hello, we all need a perfect black blazer.

.These Wilfred knit sweaters are so bomb. They're easy to layer, but look great in their element as oversized knits paired with boyfriend or skinny jeans. I have a couple in plain colors (black, orange, mint...), but when i saw this print...i died, and needless to say, purchased it. Light enough for summer nights, but so comfy and cozy that you are definitely going to want to have it handy all year long. If you live near an Aritzia, I definitely recommend checking out this knit.

.At the risk of sounding redundant, these pants are also...bomb. As much as i love and appreciate the polished, sleek, and sexy look of the cigarette leg, i am a huuuge fan of comfort, and therefore can mostly found in boyfriend jeans and trouser pant. I love these pants; they're my second pair. I first purchased them in black - to be safe. They definitely passed the test, so i decided to jump on the fall trend bandwagon and go the burgundy route. The tapered-ness near the -how should i put it- crotch area is surprisingly flattering, and i'm diggginggggg the cropped pants trend. i further justified this purchase by telling myself that i could take them into the corporate environment...whenever that happens.

oversized high-low wilfred sweater - cabernet and heather white grey (i beleive)

Soo if you read my last post, then you are aware that i was on a rampage to find the asymmetrical hem knit from Zara a la Erica of the Style Spy. Alas, this did not happen. The fact that it didn't justified my buying the the more neutral of the two sweaters - are you sensing a pattern? I will not lie, I am definitely an advocate of "if you love it, and you know you're gonna wear it, buy it in every color..." - even if you don't have the funds...I'm just kidding. Anywho, I love these sweaters. They are long enough to cover your stomach - if this is any issue for you, and great for layering over longer (shirt) pieces. I normally pair them with a pair of contrasting trouser pants, an oversized tee underneath, a ginormous scarf, and some oxfords or chelsea boots. Yum.

.mackage kenya. (please excuse the laptop case hastily strewn at the top of my bed)

The perfect leather motorcycle jacket - i don't know what more to say. Ridiculously soft leather - it was a little snug when i first purchased, but it stretched out beautifully, and now it fits like a dream. <3

Update...

So...the Zara trip definitely happened; however...there was no asymmetrical hem knit to be found =(. I haven't given up hope, but am making due with the pity purchases i made as a result...of course i did. Hope everyone had a great and safe Halloween weekend! I will be posting a collective haul soon!

Talk to you soon,

hello hello...//current obsession.

First and foremost, thank you thank you for visiting my attempt at blogging. I'll keep it short and sweet as to not get into a rambly introduction...I am currently (and when i say currently, I mean as of a couple days ago) obsessed with finding the perfect chunky knit; comfy and soft; oversized, yet shapely and flattering...it's possible; do not roll your eyes at me. After watching Erica of the style spy's haul video the other day, I think I may have found it (although I wasn't looking for said "it" before watching her video...Here's a link: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rh8Pz9Yl1k4).
The Zara asymmetrical hem sweater she is wearing in the video is perfect, and to die for...and I must have it. Here is a better view:
Autumn is a chilly time for us folk in Vancouver, and this sweater is most definitely a necessity ;). Hopefully my next post will be me wearing it. Thanks Erica!
Alrighty, I hope everybody that is actually reading this has an amazing rest of their weekend.
Until next time,
