Show Off 2013 = HUGE Success!!

Thank you to everybody who attended The 4th Annual Show Off 2013 hosted by Beauty Council! This charitable event proudly supports the Look Good Feel Better organization, whose sole purpose is to help "empower women, and to manage the effects that cancer and its treatment have had on their appearance and morale" (pinkpearlpr).

This year, ten of B.C.'s most elite salons took the runway with their most unique and fashionable hair styles...some might call it hair art. The ten salons included:

■         Eliane Hair Spa 

■         Lounge Hair Studio

■         The Megahair Family

■         A Michael Levine Salon Group

■         Opus Salon

■         Suki's with L'Oréal Professionnel

■         Tonic Hair Salon

■         Union Salons

■         Zazou Salon & Spa

■         Zinc Hair


Each salon was given approximately  five minutes of working the runway with a maximum of five models or dancers. This year's twist boasted a "People's Choice Award, audience members were able to vote for their favorite salon by texting in "vote". This year's People's Choice Award was awarded to Zazou Salon and Spa at the after-party at Vancouver's new hot spot, The Annex @ Queen's Republic.

BeautyCouncil Show Off 2013 Charity Event//::

Alas, it is Fashion Week in Vancouver yet again..and unfortunately, as is most always the case, I am unable to attend most - all events due to my beloved work schedule. However, for those of you residing in Vancouver, and with a bit more free time on your hands, BeautyCouncil is putting on their 4th Annual Show Off Charity Event this Monday, March 25, 2013 at 7 pm at the Vogue Theatre, 918 Granville Street, Vancouver.

The event promises a glamorous and fashionable evening with ten of Vancouver's most elite salons putting on a show with their own unique interpretations of cutting edge hair design and style.

Each salon will have up to five minutes to light up the stage with a maximum of five models or dancers. The models and dancers will embody the stylists’ artistic interpretations of this year’s Show Off theme, “natural glamour”, in every detail including hair, makeup, costume, music and overall performance.

New this year is the Beauty Blowout Contest! A draw will be held on the night of the event where the WINNER and 3 friends will enjoy a free hair wash, hair treatment, and blowout (up to $1000 value).

The winner must be present at the night of Show Off to claim this prize.

This years event will also feature a People's Choice Award! Be sure to text "vote" for your favorite Show Off Salon after their models have lit up the runway. The winner will be selected by a live public vote, and announced at the end of the event! Rep it VanCity! #showoff2013


A portion of the proceeds from this event will be donated to "Look Good Feel Better", Canada's only organization dedicated to empowering women to best manage "the effects that cancer and its treatment have on their appearance and morale" (beautycouncil).
